Jamming with the Borstal Boys!

July 10th, 2009

The Borstal Boys 10th year anniversary gig was brilliant and a night to be remembered for years to come! The Blue Mosquitoes were very proud to be the support band for the Borstal Boys who provide great inspiration and encouragement to young musicians following their footsteps.

A very rare and special night indeed with Zac flying down from Canberra specifically for the occasion to reform the original line up of Matt, Steve, Nick and Zac. To add further depth talented young banjo player Owen and local legend Peter Grubb became honoury Borstal Boys on the night.

Nick played great bass all night and jammed with the Blue Mosquitoes in the first set. The bands seemed to morph again later for a little while when Hannah and Moire jammed with the Borstal Boys for some hellishly fast tunes.

The dualing fiddles of Zac and Hannah was the highlight for many on the night. The magic of the performance can be heard in the recording below. Wouldn't it be great to make this a annual event!

The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
