‘Meaghers Escape’ wins Multi Award! Hannah was very humbled an honored to have won prizes in two categories at the 2009 Folk Federation of Tasmania’s Song and Tune Awards. Hannah’s original tune called ‘Meaghers Escape’ won the 2009 Mike Silverwood Tune Award and also the Mike Silverwood Under 19 Award (best tune or Song). The competition showcase concert held at Brookfield Winery revealed the depth of Tasmanian talent and the high quality of competition entries. Hannah wishes to thank competition judges for awarding her the prizes. The Blue Mozzies had great fun on the day in front of an appreciative audience with a fast paced version of ‘Meaghers Escape’

For many years, the Folk Federation of Tasmania has conducted a contest for both an original song and tune of contemporary traditional folk style from a resident of Tasmania, with the aim to promote the values of the Federation.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
